Hi again!
So I read about XWIS as a replacement for WOL. It says to connect simply click "online" in the main menu. When I load CnC1, there is a "Multiplayer" and "Internet" button in the menu. The internet button makes me register for WOL, but that gets no where in the end because it's a dead service I suppose. In multiplayer, I can click either modem or network. I click network - this allows me to play games with my other home computer (I have 2 comps with CnC1) but I don't see other games being hosted by other people across the net (I guess the CnC1's "Network" means LAN only?).
How can I see other games hosted by other people? Am I doing something wrong?
Also in the "How to Connect" section of "Online" play here at CnCWorld, it talks about registering for a username, saying that all you need to do is type a username and password and it registers. I don't see where to register a username, am I missing something there too? Or does this option not apply for CnC1?
Sorry for my computer ignorance!
Joe
