I just downloaded Red Alert 1 and installed it not to long ago, however when I tried to hit the uninstall button nothing happens. Even tried going to the control panel to uninstall. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Note: When Clicking on the uninstall short cut, it said the short cut went to this file.

"C:\WINDOWS\RAUNINST.EXE C:\WINDOWS\UNINST.EXE -fD:\WESTWOOD\REDALERT\DeIsL1.isu"

The game is installed on my D drive not sure if this would matter or not.

Why is it installed on the D drive? I'm not sure if it matters or not but I believe your not suppose to do that... I'm not an expert so wait for someone else to answer.
Sorry I can't help.

I installed Red Alert 1 to my D: drive due to hard drive space constraints on my C: drive. I followed the guide to install Red Alert 1 found on this link: http://www.cncworld.org/?page=features/tutorials/rafree only thing I deviated from the guide on is on the setting of the compaiblity mode on "setup" found on the cd image. Instead of clicking "apply" after setting it to windows 95 mode I only clicked "ok". I also used the program Daemon tools to emulate the image with instead of "MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM (http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-magicdisc-overview.htm?=magiciso)".

Thank you for taking your time to read my post any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi iceblade,
Is there an uninstaller icon in the game directory?

Not that I can see. I have included a screen shot of the files in the directory incase I missed it.

The only other guy who's contacted me with this issue was able to use a system restore point to get rid of the game.

How bad would it mess up windows if I just deleted the folder?

Depends on what's in the folder

It would probably prevent you from installing the game in the future, but that's about it.

You seem to be missing the DeIsL1.isu file in your game folder... it's normally created when installing the game. It contains information for the uninstaller.

You can always just delete the game folder and the start menu folders.
If you delete RAUNINST.EXE in your windows folder (which isn't a Windows file but actually part of RA), then go into your Add/Remove programs and try to remove RA, it'll notice the linked program isn't there and will remove the entry.

To remove the last traces, you should also remove the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Westwood\Red Alert Windows 95 Edition
