C&c1

Hey all, im new to the forum and im having problems trying to get C&C1 to install. im on XP and i followed all the instruction off the net but there all asking me to put a patch into a directory that dosnt exist becasue the game dosnt actualy install.

would anybody happen to know how to get the game installed. i been going cold turky for some old school gaming and when i finaly get my hadns on the game i cant play it :(

any help would be much apreciated.

'dippers, you REALLY need to update these guides. My 1.06b patch (http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/cnc95upd/cc95p106/) is vk's 1.05 patch and the dll fix and a ton of new stuff together. In four languages.

Ben: You can also save yourself all the hassle and install the full game pack of v1.06b:

If you still want the movies, all you need to do is disable the NoCD option in conquer.ini after installing, and play with the CDs like in a normal install.

This full game pack is another 99 mb download, but it's really tons easier than the manual install :p

Also, technically, C&C95 v1.06b HAS skirmish mode (though I guess it's nowhere near as entertaining as RA's) :p
Mind you, the Capture The Flag mode is really fun, even if the AI has no bases.

C&C1 has a skirmish!?

i cant seem to find it in the menu :S

No, you enable it simply by starting a LAN game with only AI players. See the manual of C&C95 v1.06b for more information on that.

The AI can't build bases, but if you enable Capture The Flag mode (click the Bases button; it has 4 game modes now) the AI players have a Mobile HQ; a vehicle which causes that side to blow up when it's destroyed. It's kind of a mobile flag; once the commander (= the player) is dead, it's game over for that army. This does give a pretty neat game mode where you need to do tactical strikes against these MHQs to survive.

Heck, combine it with putting the number of starting units on 0, and you got a sandbox mode where your game continues until you destroy all of the defenseless AI MHQ vehicles.

hy...I am new here...i have download C&C1 few times and put on CD but neither of them works...when I try to install the game it send my an error like this:unable to locate necessary files.Please run Setup.exe from the CD-ROM disc. But I put the CD in computer...I have XP Professional...can you help me...please

If you mean the Demo version of CnC the problem is the CnC demo is for the DOS version of the game so Requires DosBox to run.

My brother has already download that and it doesn't work....the same message is coming when I wont to install them like in the every C&C1 who I am download...maybe is the problem in burning...now I have download covert operation and I try to do how it is on this site http://www.cncworld.org/?page=features/tutorials/tdfree but nothing happened...

You can install the game with the installer from my site:

download the "Complete No-CD game installation pack".

Then after installing, go to the folder where you installed it, open conquer.ini, go to the [CDControl] section and put the NoCD option to "NoCD=0".

Then you can play normally with the CDs.
(you can also play without CDs, but then you have no videos)

AH! I forgot!

That version contains a bug that can crash the game... download this to fix it:

Simply replace your C&C95.exe by the one in the rar archive.

I did it like this:I download it,extract,an copy that and then I paste it in program files-westwood-C&C95...is that right?
