problem with RA1 3.03 patch fix for TFD

whenve i try to run the upadter, i get the error "cant find registry sntries" now i know theres something wrong, ause i can play RA1... it doesnt make a difrence if i reinstall repair, or update with any all patchs.

is it possibly because i instlled it into a difrent dirctory?

please help, i would like to play RA 1 online and over the LAN, which im having trouble wiht also, i installed the patch to allow it (the .DLL file) but i cant figure out how to set it up.

I guess you'll probably need to do a complete uninstall, then reinstall.

Hm... the error you got was this one, right?
"The First Decade registry entries not found. Aborting."

First of all, it's definitely not because it's in a different directory. In fact, my own TFD on which I first tested it is installed in a different directory.

Which Windows version are you running? I've had problems with the program not being able to read the Windows registry before... it just seems to happen on some systems.

Now the program is written in PASCAL, and even on my own system I've had some really weird results with it from time to time. I do what I can, but I can't guarantee that it'll work on all systems.

Thought I'd resurrect this very old thread seeing as I have come across this problem (apologies if that is an issue, didn't find anything else in search).

Just to clarify, as far as I'm aware, this problem has nothing to do with the system you are running as I recently had to clean install my version of XP and never had this issue prior. So based on that assumption it's totally random.

I get the exact error message that saber received after unpacking the 3.03 files and clicking the TFD command prompt file. Cleaning the registry and uninstalling/reinstalling the program makes no difference.

Is there no other way I can get 3.03 working on RA1?

yeah... I'll make a manual version of the nocd RA1 3.03 patch...
