![]() If you have any questions for me to put to the developers, click the "Comments" link below and I will be tweeting the answers. With less than a week to go my orders have been received from Commander Apoc. I am to rendezvous in Cologne this Thursday in preparation for the start of the conference on Friday. I must admit I am hyped to see C&C4 in action and meet my follow community members in the flesh. Attendees will be blogging on the official EA website throughout the event, but I am also preparing a live twitter feed for the CnCWorld homepage so you, my loyal visitors, can receive up-to-the-second news from the conference. |

- Will we see some Scrin in-game, even if not in multiplayer or Skirmish?
- Will there be Mod support? - What kind of maps and locales will we see, apart from the Desert and Snow tilesets? (Maybe some cities? A Space platform perhaps?) - Will the mod SDK (assuming there is one) allow us to mod in stuff from previous C&C titles, such as the sidebar, base building and Tib Harvesting? - Has EALA decided on an offline mode (like an offline profile) for Single player only? Some less important and less interesting questions: - Will we see some CGI videos? - How many hours of FMV is the game going to have?/How many hours of FMV footage have been filmed so far? - Will there be a map editor for the game? -If the game is all online base will it be set up so you can
1. log in on any pc which has the game installed? 2. Pay for extra/new accounts? (like in for example guild wars) -If i lose internet conection playing a single player game what will happen? -will there be any base building or built bases at all, even in the single player campain? -Will there be ways to donate money (or xp) to other players in game? -Will there be heli pad aircraft like the orca in CnC4? -Will there be working creates like in the older CnC games? (eg Tiberian Sun were you could get units, money, a bonus or somehing bad out of a create) Edit; my Answered Questions - if i unlock a unit playing as one GDI/Nod "subfraction" will i get that unit when i play as another? = No - Will there be LAN play or is this scrapped? (like in some other new games and most MMOs) = scrapped - How do crawlers respawn? by magic (like most games ) or via dropship or something else? = Droppod Luck you, i wish i was going.

I can already answer 3 of these, Revolutionary:
- LAN is scrapped. - Only one GDI or Nod subfaction has any unit. No two subfactions have the same unit (Meaning only offensive GDI has the Mammoth Tank, for example), except for the Engineer, in which case, that unit is already unlocked when you start the game for the first time. - Crawlers respawn via drop pods. Once your Crawler is destroyed, you are asked to select your Crawler and select where to respawn (at a specific start location only). If you choose another class than your current one, all units on the map with perhaps the exception of Engineers are killed (to avoid having units from other classes AND your new class at the same time). Afterwards, a drop pod crashes to the select location, opens up, and your new Crawler comes out. When the drop pod crashes, every unit in the immediate vicinity (Both friendly and enemy I think) is destroyed. (To avoid people who camp at spawn locations to destroy Crawlers) Last edited by Alex07; 16-08-2009 at 09:24 PM. |

Q: Why have the developers chosen to adopt a limited class system instead where a crawler can only be specialised in one discipline instead of allowing commanders to develop and personalise a single crawler across the 3 areas of specialisation in a more MMO fashion?

I asked Jason Bender and you can spend all your XP buying upgrades specialising in one class, or choose to spread your points across. Eventually if you play enough you will be able to max out all classes if you wish.
