View Full Version : Problem with getting cnc's movies to work properly...

Well, here's my trouble: I've got XCC Mixer, and I've used it to view TD's movies. One problem: XCC doesn't play sound apparently, and when I extract the movies into .AVI format, part of the movie is distorted (on the last movie where the temple of nod gets blasted with an ion cannon, when the camera decends into the bowls of the command centre EVERYTHING goes purple and orange, and almost entirely indecipherable) I would like to know:

If there is an option or add-on for XCC Mixer that allows sound.
If there is another program that can run .VQA files that HAS sound.
Or if there is a program that can run the extracted .AVIs properly.

This will play with sound. Taken from the XCC Mixer home page.... ;)

I remember when I didn't know how to solve that problem.

Get the RAD Video Tools (http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm).
Using the XCC Mixer, copy the movie as PCX (so you get all the individual frames). Also, copy the movie as WAV (PCM). Using RAD Video Tools, put the movie frames back together into a movie (BINK), and insert the sound as WAV. Then you can copy the BINK movie to AVI.

The pallete will be fine and the sound for the movie will work. :)

Well, thank you for all your help! I've watched all the movies (I'm using them as referance for a 3d movie I'm making) and found them a great help.:)

Here's a test for the GDI logo I did:

No problem. I'm sort of in the middle of making a movie myself...

For the contest?
(Although I don't have enough time-some people do...)

No, not for the contest. I'd probably violate copyright law.
But hearing of the contest made me wanna make another movie.

Pity EA games dosen't give anyone out of America a chance to make a decent movie! And when they DO decide to lengthen the time period, it's too late for those who'd given up already...
