Red Alert patch problems

i installed the game and i tried copying the patch RA108USP into the installation directory, and it says the cd is read only, and i dont know what to do, i followed the whole tutorial on the website too, thanks for any help

It sounds like you're trying to copy it to the CD, not the installation directory. Usually something like C:/Westwood/Red Alert.
