View Full Version : Nod Disk Download Issue

So I followed the links here (http://www.cncforums.com/new/local_links.php?catid=120) to download the original Command and Conquer. I got working and played through the GDI campaign, but when I downloaded the Nod disk, it started saying "Please insert CD 2". Well, whenever I mount the Nod disc, the drive lists "GDI95" as its contents! It seems that the Nod file I downloaded is actually just the GDI file with a different name. What gives?

Did you name the CD as NOD95?

alliednoob, that doesn't matter. the filename of the iso has no relation with either its contents or CD volume label.

chitzk0i: I'm downloading the CD right now to check if you're right.

Nope, no problem... the volume label is correct (NOD95), and it contains the Nod missions, the "Nod disk detected" sound file (disk.wav) and the Nod videos. There's nothing wrong with the image.

I'm talking about the disk itself, you have to name the disk u burned it to 'NOD95'
I have also downloaded it and it has worked perfectly, and are you sure you did not accidently click to download the GDI.iso?

If you burn a disk, then yes it's important to name the disk correctly. But if you follow the installation guide you don't have to burn a disk.

Oh lol, missed the word 'mount'
Sry about that, and how did you get pass lvl 6 on GDI? I don't know what to do after you get the chinook (besides go onto mainland) lol

Really, you shouldn't post that kind of stuff in someone else's thread. But anyway...

Cling to the side of the map. First stay south, then at the west edge, then at the north edge. Always scout ahead, take out any AA you encounter and then jump over obstacles with the chinook. Avoid the Buggy patrols; you're defenseless against them.

Also, think very hard about which building is essential to disrupting Nod's plans to build up an army there before bombing some random building.

Sorry to be off topic again but, that was more of a statement then a question.

Hmm. I had to move the GDI .iso file into another folder before MagicDisc would recognize that I was choosing the Nod file.

Oh. Well, I use Daemon tools... which has no such problems. I can even mount all CDs in different virtual drives simultaneously, and the game will switch between them automatically.

Bah. But the walkthrough spoils the surprise :p
