    Question Skirmish Problems with Vista?

    Hi,

Kinda new here and hoping someone knows a solution to this problem!

Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else and I have just not seen it but I did try looking. Has anyone else found (I see a lot of others have on the web) that when play Skirmish missions Red Alert just dies?

When I try playing with something running in the background it will not allow me to play skirmishes at all, I click on the "begin game" button and the button shows it self as being pressed but the mouse remains on the screen, when I go to Task Manager it simply shows it as being non reponsive. So, I killed my net connection and closed everything on my PC, went back to RA, clicked to begin match and BINGO! Started working. For ten minutes. Rebooted machine, closed everything down restarted the game, same thing happened again.

Then updated the drivers of my Graphic Card as they were not the most up to date, rebooted and problem continued. I then started playing a Campaign and it worked without any problems.

Does anyone know of a solution? This seems to be a Vista thing as when I was looking around the web a lot of people seemed to also have problems with Vista yet as as far as the Microsoft Compability Checker is concerned it should work.

I really want a solution to this as now I have played the campaign I know it is a good game and want to get into a clan with work mates so really want to be able to play Online gaming and Skirmish games. I am thinking of calling EA and have tried a patch that seems to be going around the web but it hasn't made any change.

    Please can anyone help??

    Many thanks,
    c_windsor

    Hi c_windsor,
I can't say I've heard of this problem before. Sorry.

Hm... I'd say ask about it on the official forums. They actually have deelopers looking at it there (from time to time).
