High i'm new to the C&C series my ps3 crapped out and i'm not gonna get another for awhile. So today i decided to try some pc gaming so iwasn't gonna buy another modernwarefar2, So i saw the C&C 1st decade box and I was like i've heard lots of good things over the years.I'm 42 and live in upstate ny . Looking forward to learning more about the games from the forum

IMO you made a good choice trying out First Decade.
Sure, the games are all fairly primitive (some more than others), but what they lack in graphical charm the more than make up for with strategic quality and originality.
My #1 favorite on the first decade is Red Alert 2. The acting was corny, but I really feel that they tapped into a truly fantastic storyline. I love history, and have followed Russian/Soviet history for a while, so the whole concept of the Alternate History 'Red Alert' universe was very appealing.
The other games are awesome as well. The entire First Decade package is PURE GOLD. Wrapping these awesome games into one DVD has got to be one of the best decisions EA has ever ever made.

I agree, The First Decade is a good choice. You can check out our download section: http://www.cncforums.com/new/local_links.php?catid=3 to download patch 1.03, it is a must download.
I downloaded it but there is an error with the zipfile so it didn't work.Also can you play this game with a pc controller by logitech called dual action, it's verry similar to a ps3 controller thanks for any helpguys and a link to patch that isn't a zip would be real cool thanks again.
There's definitely nothing wrong with the 1.03 patch file, I had to download it myself over the weekend! Try re-downloading it.
Ehh, if you WANT to play PC strategy games with a console controller, you're doing something wrong IMO. These are pure point-and-click games. You need a mouse for them.
You should also use the keyboard as all C&C games use keyboard shortcuts to create groups and a lot of other things.
You know when you have played too much C&C when you awnser everything with "affirmative" and "yes sir".
