Please remember if you are having problems with any sort of Hack or trainer for Generals or Zero Hour you will not find any help here.

We do not help people get CD Keys, Cracked versions of the games or no CD programs.

Hi,

This is my first ever go at playing online, I am kind of expecting to get hammered, but still, you have to start somewhere.

Anyway, I have TFD, and a couple of friends have Zero Hour. We all want to play against one another.

I am having major problem connecting (well, getting a game to connect)
(They are also having issues as well, one of them can't even create an account wit EA Games as it seems that they must have some sort of registration issue)

I have Patch 1.2 (Which seems to patch the game to version 1.04), apparently this is the latest since it was dated 20th April 2006.

Details are as follows
PC Specs
ASUS A8NSLI-Deluxe.
Athlon 64 3500+.
2Gb RAM.
4x SATA 160Gb HDD's in RAID 5 with 1 as Global Spare.
DVD-RW.
2x MSI NX6800GT's in SLi Mode.

Internet connection
ADSL 24Mbps down and 1.3Mbp up

Game Version
Ver 1.04

Ports opened and forwarded on the firewall are
80, 6667, 28910, 29900, 29920, 1234-1237, 3840,
4005, 4808, 4810, 4995, 7000-7002, 4329, 27900

The game does the following...
I get to login (it does a quick check for updates and seems to pass)
Then I can see other users logining in and out, then I try to start a quick game and it seems to pick up a player, says that it is waiting for probe response then it comes up with Error, unable to connect to other players.

What is happening?
Am I missing something?

Any help would be appreciated.

The Short Answer, no.
The Long Answer, still no, have tried to join existing games but no joy.
I really don't understand what the probelm could be.

I even went to the extent of turning the firewall off completely on both the router AND the PC, and still the same problem.

I have a fixed IP so I see no problems that the service should be having in communicatiing with me.

Any other ideas?

tried uninstalling and reinstalling the whole game?

So, thats not it.

Totaly remove all TFD files and attempt it with Generals and Zero Hour (borrow off one of your mates)
*Dont forget the files in My Documents*


TBH TFD does have a load of bugs.... you still can't play TS:FS original CD's to TFD as they don't recognise each other as the same version....

Can you get to the login screen? If you can go to www.gamespyid.com and register an account with a WORKING E-Mail.

Use these account details on the login page.



And more....

Try and get hold of each update on its own..... will be a pain but the ZH auto-updater is a bstrd! at the moment my ZH has decided to dislike the graphics card i have (factory one.... piece of crap lol) I had the game working for about 4 weeks and then it just stoped working..... pfffft....

Ok,I also have Generals by itself and I also have Generals with the expansion packs, by itself (two separate box sets) These are in addition to the First Decade.

I will try with Generals by itself but I really am not holding out much hope for that as both of my friends are also having the same problem and they only have the Generals Zero Hour edition

I need to know the REAL minium requirements for generals. I have:
Intel(R) Celeron(TM) CPU
1300MHz
1.29 GHz, 320 MB of RAM

I had a P3 700 MHz and Generals ran on it, you should be ok depending on your graphics card.
