Nope... Prob a problem with your intternet or Installation. Wait a day, start the PC wait an hour (with it connected to the internet) and try again... should heat up the computer (yes cold computers fck up...) and I know cleaning it out is a better idea (i'm lazy...) but heck.. it works.

If it's still screwey look on here for the info about deleating the Options.INI file and if that don't work return!

Hi all, hope you can help me with my problem!

now i have done a fresh install of CnC generals on my fathers computer (no internet connection), loaded the game up and it all worked fine, i then decided to alter the graphic settings to 1600x1200 resolution.

The computer cut back to desktop then back into game, only problem is now, is that the screen is black and i get an 'out of range' note on my monitor...

I have tried uninstalling and re installing, but everytime i start the game i get the same thing now, pure black screen with monitor saying out of range?

All i can think is that there is an option file somewhere with the graphics set at 1600x1200, that doesnt erase wen i uninstall, hence wen i reinstall it still loads at 1600x1200.

    Anyways you might know different..

    Comp specs..

    7600gt GFX card
    K8N4-E motherboard
    1GB ram
    3000xp proccessor

Now the game has just been installed, no patches added so its at basic version, also i have got the latest GFX drivers installed.

    Thanks for the incoming help.

Well the out of range message shows that you set the resolution higher than the monitor can handle. It's stored in My Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Data\Options.ini

There's nothing we can do about the serial number error, I recommend contacting EA Customer Support: http://support.ea.com
